PatentedGlassCleaningSystem
A patented system for cleaning and separating glass from mixed recycling streams, cutting contamination and adding at least $10 per ton to scrap glass value.
In plain English
A proprietary system for cleaning and separating glass from mixed recycling streams, reducing contamination and increasing commodity value.
How it works
The system takes the curbside glass stream and separates contaminants from the glass through one or two shaker screens, using positive and negative air to move contaminants into the patented vacuum drop box and cyclone. Paper and light fiber pulled off the glass are recovered as a shredded-paper product for resale, and remaining contaminants are returned to their respective material flows rather than sent to landfill. Because it is a dry mechanical process, it fits onto an existing residue line without the water, effluent, and utility load of a conventional wet wash.
What this means for you
For MRF operators, the practical benefit is straightforward:
- Cullet that sells. Cleaner glass output moves out of the residue bin and into a commodity stream that end-markets will actually buy, adding at least $10 per ton to scrap glass value.
- A second commodity. The shredded paper the system recovers becomes a resale product instead of contamination.
- Lower contamination penalties. Less paper, label, and organic residue clinging to the glass means fewer rejections and price downgrades from the buyer.
- Retrofit-friendly. The platform integrates into existing residue lines and pairs with our patented secondary MRF for closed-loop recovery.
If you operate a facility that is currently sending glass fines to landfill or accepting price penalties on contaminated cullet, this is the system worth talking to us about.
