Titus partnered with the Council of the Great Lakes Region Foundation, with funding from the Alliance to End Plastic Waste and The Recycling Partnership, on an eight-week demonstration at four primary MRFs in the greater Chicago area. The portable secondary MRF processed 119,120 pounds of residual material and recovered 79% of it as market-ready commodities or advanced-recycling feedstock, meaningfully above the 50.7% / 49.9% / 50.7% recovery rates from our prior Pacific Northwest, California, and Northeast studies.
The full case study covers the five-pass sortation methodology, comparison to the three prior regional studies, projected impact at full scale, the Hefty ReNew™ collaboration with Reynolds Consumer Products, and the two Titus patents that protect the equipment and business model.
